President Trump warned Monday that Google interfered with the 2016 presidential election, tampering with as many as 16 million votes, and recommended legal recourse be taken against the monopolist tech giant.
“Wow, Report Just Out! Google manipulated from 2.6 million to 16 million votes for Hillary Clinton in 2016 Election! This was put out by a Clinton supporter, not a Trump Supporter! Google should be sued. My victory was even bigger than thought!” the president tweeted.
Trump did not link to a report substantiating the figures referenced assertion, but tagged the conservative government watchdog Judicial Watch in the tweet.
Judicial Watch and its president Tom Fitton frequently publish reports detailing election fraud, but the watchdog has yet to target Google’s involvement in election manipulation.
Dr. Robert Epstein, a liberal Democrat and the senior research psychologist at the American Institute for Behavioral Research and Technology, has devoted the past six years to investigating online manipulation, surveillance and censorship.
In testimony before the Senate Judiciary Committee in June, Epstein revealed Google generated a minimum of 2.6 million votes for Hillary Clinton through deceptive manipulation of search results.
Epstein, who characterized himself as a “vocal public supporter” of Clinton, warned tech giants like Google and Facebook could affect up to 15 million votes in 2020 if they all support the same presidential candidate by merely sending “go vote” reminders to those believed to be Democrats.
Millions of mainstream Americans rely on Google for information without suspecting that they are being “manipulated, surveilled and censored,” Epstein explained in an interview with this reporter.
“All three of these are connected to each other: if you are censoring information and people don’t see it, you are manipulating them – you are manipulating their thinking,” the Harvard psychologist said. “If you are surveilling them, it’s easier to manipulate them because the more you know about someone, the easier it is to manipulate him or her. The danger has to do with the mountains of information that these companies are accumulating which is being used to manipulate us and to make decisions about us without us even understanding that these decisions are being made.
“More and more algorithms are being used to make decisions about whether we can get credit, whether we can get a certain job, a certain promotion. People are unaware of that, but that’s what’s happening more and more.”
Google’s interfering with elections globally, Epstein continued, determining approximately a quarter of national elections in the world.
“At the moment, whether people know it or not, democracy in the United States is little more than an illusion,” he said. “Google and Facebook are impacting every single day the opinions and the votes of billions of people around the world. Within a few years there will be exceeding 4 billion people who use their services.”
“Over time, if search results are favoring one candidate in a big national election in the U.S., that can shift 2 or 3 million votes without anyone knowing that they have been manipulated because people can’t see the bias, the favoritism, in search results,” he explained.
“Experiments show that by manipulating the search suggestions that they are flashing at you, they can turn a 50/50 split amongst undecided voters into an 90/80 split, with no one aware that they are being manipulated and without leaving a paper trail for authorities to track,” Epstein added. “For the record, I am not a conservative, but I love America, I love democracy, I believe in that system of government and I am very concerned that these companies have as much power as they do.”
Google has dismissed Epstein’s assessment, insisting in a 2017 interview with the Washington Post the Harvard professor’s evaluation is “nothing more than a poorly constructed conspiracy theory.”
But, executives of the tech company “have been lying under oath” and “perjuring themselves before Congress” about their brazen censorship of both conservative and Trump supporting content and Project Veritas’ latest expose is “smoking gun proof,” Epstein told Breitbart News Thursday.
WHISTLEBLOWER: GOOGLE ‘TAMPERING WITH ELECTIONS TO ESSENTIALLY OVERTHROW THE UNITED STATES
Verifying Epstein’s claims, a Google search of the allegations President Trump made against Google Monday produces hits from only left-leaning sites.
The first article that appeared on the top of Google’s search engine is an article published by Boing Boing with a headline that reads “Trump tweets lie that Google ‘manipulated’ up to 16 million votes for Hillary Clinton. Nope.”
“Illegitimate, popular-vote-losing, manifestly unfit United States President Donald Trump tweeted some more crazy shit on Twitter today,” Boing Boing wrote.
The next story that showed up on the top of Google search was an article published by the left-leaning Independent, claiming, “Study after study has indicated Mr. Trump is wrong about election fraud.”
The Independent goes on to claim Judicial Watch “frequently makes false accusations and spreads conspiracies against liberals.”
Liberal rag Raw Story, chimed in, “Trump tweets out bonkers conspiracy theory that Google ‘manipulated’ up to 16 million votes for Hillary Clinton.”
This reporter has observed reports published by leading conservative news sites seldom show up on the first or second page of Google’s search results.
