Yesterday, after the announcement by the Israeli government to deny entry to both Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib to Israel, Tlaib didn’t issue a statement. Instead, she tweeted out a photo of her 90-year-old grandmother pandering to the cyber community how Israel has denied her the right to visit her family.
Tlaib claimed Israel denied her entry, therefore she would not be able to see her grandmother and family. This is false for two reasons.
Firstly, the statement by the Prime Minister of Israel explicitly stated that they would allow Tlaib entry to visit family and secondly, this was visible in the tweeted statement on the Prime Minister of Israel’s official twitter account.
Secondly, Tlaib can visit her family without going through Israel but it’s simply longer and more tedious through Jordan. Tlaib can fly into Amman, Jordan, and take an hour and a half cab ride through the King Hussein highway to the King Hussein/Allenby Bridge checkpoint. Palestinians use The King Hussein/Allenby bridge as the single exit point to the rest of the world and back for West Bank Palestinians. Clearing the checkpoint is long and you must board a bus to take you across the river. The “tolls” of the bridge are also VERY expensive. There, she would have to have a car waiting for her to drive her out to Beit ‘Ur al-Foqa – which is a couple of hours away.
Tlaib’s claim of being denied entry to Israel, depriving her the ability to visit her family in Beit ‘Ur al-Foqa is false.
Tlaib submitted a formal request to the Israeli Government requesting passage into Israel to visit her grandmother on the same day Israel took the decision to bar her from entering.
The request was granted by the Ministry of the Interior granting her entry into Israel to visit her grandmother after the receipt of the above letter sent to them by Tlaib. Though, immediately after the Israeli Minister of the Interior announced that they had granted Tlaib’s request to enter Israel, (in order to travel to the West Bank to see her family) she tweeted that she should not be forced to “bow down to their oppressive and racist policies” and that they were using her love for her grandmother against her.
The Minister of the Interior did not hesitate to release a statement in the unexpected and malevolent attempt to politicize her family and further demonstrate her utter hate of Israel.
It’s evident that Tlaib, her supporters, and the mainstream media are supporting her decision to refuse terms and conditions to enter the nation of Israel (to travel to see her grandmother), and bank on the fact that the general public has no idea that she doesn’t need to enter Israel to visit her grandmother. Her official statement is riddled with deliberate falsehoods and “emotional” statements to tug the heartstrings of those that do not realize her grandmother does not live in Israel and that Tlaib can, in fact, travel there to see her.
What kind of individual would pander their own 90-year-old grandmother for political brownie points and to further sow division, hate and controversy to another nation. It’s despicable. Further fueling the misinformation Palestinian American attorney Arraf said:
There was nothing “humanitarian” about Israel’s offer to let Tlaib visit her grandmother on condition that she refrain from working to end the inhumane conditions under which her grandmother is forced to live. One day Tlaib and all Palestinians will travel free.Huwaida Arraf
In this article we have demonstrated that Palestinians can travel freely without entry into Israel. Once again, misinformation and pandering to those that wouldn’t even be able to identify Israel or Palestine on a map.
Though our exclusive sources say that Tlaib’s decision to NOT visit her grandmother and family in Palestine was not out of pride or resentment to the reasonable conditions the state of Israel presented to and that she had agreed to, instead it was her own family that told her NOT to come.
Her family’s home where her 85-year-old grandmother (not 90-years-old like she claimed) lives is tucked away between two sister villages: Beit Ur al-Tahta and Beit ‘Ur al-Foqa. Our source is a local business owner in Beit Ur al-Tahta and has close family members there.
Lots of us consider the house the most watched home between our two cities. The family’s property was used to build a road that caused our two villages – that are like sister hilltops – to be separated.Close Family Friend
The family friend explained to me that a highway called HW 433 utilized land owned by Tlaib’s family to build it. Palestinians are not allowed to use the highway to travel to Ramallah. Israel then put up barriers to protect their borders, which intercepted an unofficial dirt passage they used to travel to Ramallah. It was explained that the Tlaib home has at least 10 security cameras facing and monitoring it at all times.
When press came to interview them for Rashida’s win in America the Israelis came over with police to see why there were so many people at once at the house. They were concerned of a planned attack so close to their bases. This is why we told her NOT to come. This would put us all at risk and has already brought some shame to our villages.Close Family Friend
In fact, all familial members we contacted yesterday to ask how they felt about Tlaib submitting a request to come visit, felt that it was putting a target on the backs of all people in both Beit Ur al-Tahta and Beit ‘Ur al-Foqa. Being barred from entering Israel was seen as unfavorable by the villagers because they all felt the talks have been going forward and feel that middle ground would be approached.
Being a radical is not something we applaud or approve of. It draws unwanted attention. It is embarrassing for her family to show their face at the cafe or bakery. She made our villages targets and to look like we raise radicals or troublemakers. If any escalations happen in between Palestine and Israel our villages will be the first to be investigated..They are a “celebrity” family but her visiting may cause conflict. I hope she doesn’t come.Resident of Beit ‘Ur al-Foqa
We spoke to close family and friends of the Tlaib family. One of Tlaib’s neighbors from Dearborn, Michigan said:
We are all concerned. She is now putting forward a very hard position and as a Palestinian American she is making us all look bad. I am sure it’s because she is under the direction of the Somali Ilhan Omar. Her family told her not to travel to Palestine because it will put her family in danger.Dearborn, MI neighbor
Tlaib’s father, Harbi Elabed, a proud immigrant from Jerusalem is described by his friends and past co-workers as a non-radical and that he doesn’t share the views of his daughter, Rashida. He had spoken out against his daughter using his home address to get elected in a district she did not live in 9 years ago.
She lied. She lied big-time to get elected. I never teach her that way. I teach her the right way. It’s my house. She didn’t live there. She lived in Dearborn in her house with her husband and boy.Harbi Elabed, Rashida Tlaib’s father
We interviewed a few relatives and close friends of Mr. Elabed to understand how he felt about the news that his daughter had been barred from entering Israel.
The first thing he said was “I hope this doesn’t apply to me. She doesn’t care about who she harms. I did not raise her like that”. We have a lot of family that live in Palestinian controlled and Israeli controlled Jerusalem, this makes it difficult for all of us. Word gets around and our family living in Israel are already calling.Extended Family of Harbi Elabed
His former co-workers were also concerned and called. Mohammed, who identifies as an Arab Israeli, told us just how damaging her actions are to those back home and sympathizes.
Rashida has always been one to follow people that fed her anger and detest of what happened to her family’s property when they were building that highway. I believe that African Muslim in Congress is the one feeding her this hate.Mohammed
It seems that all friends and family that we reached out to and those who returned our calls, all had the same thing to say. They described Tlaib as a woman who is passionate, a fibber but not for bad purposes (how does that work?), and a strong supporter of Palestine, with mild resentment for Israel. Almost all of them said they believe that her radical position is being influenced by Minnesota Congresswoman Ilhan Omar, and that her congressional run had her running in circles that are known to have links to radical terrorists.
Based on the information we garnered from the interviews, we understand why Tlaib would make such an outrageous statement. It’s embarrassing to admit that your family thinks you embarrassed them and endangered them. That being said, it does not excuse her fake sob story of how her being barred to enter Israel deprives her of seeing her family residing in Palestine. She doesn’t have to travel through Israel, she can enter Palestine through Jordan like most Palestinians do.
One thing is for sure, Tlaib hasn’t stopped lying since she was first elected for the state-level representative position for the 12th District in Detroit’s Southwest side.
It’s not surprising that he did this to me. It’s not. He was abusive to me as a girl and he’s angry at me about my grandmother. I know he’s proud of what I’ve accomplished but he’s also vindictive.Rashida Tlaib comment about her father
Lying Rashida conned her way into politics, berated her honorable proud immigrant father, and now put both her father’s and mother’s side of the family in Israel and Palestine at risk with her posturing and radical position. Tlaib’s responses and actions substantiate reports of her being funded and supporting radical terrorist groups like Hezbollah and Hamas…but so does this picture.
