Flights out of Hong Kong International Airport were cancelled yesterday while protests against China’s totalitarian regime continued in the city for the tenth consecutive week.
Thousands of people were seen protesting in the Hong Kong airport, with many holding up signs to warn travelers about violence by the Chinese government. There were many protesters wearing an eye patch in solidarity with a woman who was shot in the face with a rubber bullet by Hong Kong police on Sunday.
Protesters in the streets of Hong Kong were seen waving the American flag as a symbol of freedom.
Last week, the Chinese government accusing a US diplomat of interfering in Chinese affairs. Chinese state-run media extensively reported on a photo showing U.S. diplomat Julie Eadeh meeting with prominent anti-Beijing activists at a Hong Kong hotel last Tuesday.
The U.S. State Department spoke out against China’s doxxing of a U.S. diplomat, calling China a “thuggish regime” for releasing details on Eadeh and her family.
“I don’t think that leaking an American diplomat’s private information, pictures, names of their children, I don’t think that is a formal protest, that is what a thuggish regime would do,” said State Department spokeswoman Morgan Ortagus. “That is not how a responsible nation would behave.”
China has been escalating the violence in Hong Kong in recent weeks.
Chinese police stormed the Hong Kong airport and attacked protesters after an accused undercover Chinese agent discovered and tied up. Protesters and press have been brutally assaulted and beaten in the head by the Chinese forces.
Another Hong Kong secret police officer who disguised himself as a protester by wearing the now iconic yellow helmet and a black T-shirt pinned a bleeding protestor to the ground.
China has vowed to show no mercy for Hong Kong protesters, and has threatened a complete military invasion.
Recent video suggests Chinese troops are amassing on the border of Hong Kong and are preparing to invade the city, which President Donald Trump has confirmed.
” Our Intelligence has informed us that the Chinese Government is moving troops to the Border with Hong Kong. Everyone should be calm and safe!” tweeted President Trump.
China has a well known history of killing protesters, and their communist government has killed a reported 60 million people.
Millions of Chinese were forced out of their homes and off of their farmland, and forcibly moved to cities during the communist Chinese upheaval. Workers in Chinese slave labor factories have jumped to their deaths so often that Apple contractor Foxconn was forced to install nets around one of its buildings.
Democrat candidate Andrew Yang has voiced support for China during the primary debates.
