Netanyahu Warns Twitter Is Anti-Semitic For Allowing Hamas To Operate While Banning Laura Loomer

Yair Netanyahu, the son of Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu took to Twitter on Friday to blast Twitter and the monopolist tech industry for banning investigative journalist Laura Loomer while allowing the leaders of the Palestinian terrorist group Hamas to use the social media platform to communicate their terrorist propaganda.

“It’s crazy how Jewish journalist & @realdonaldtrump supporter Laura Loomer has been banned on every single social media platform, but HAMAS is still on Twitter & Facebook. This is anti-Semitism,” Yair Netanyahu lamented. “I hope Loomer wins her lawsuit. #FreeLoomer #StopTheBias.”

While senior Hamas officials and associates use Twitter to radicalize individuals to incite violence against Israelis, Loomer was banned last November following a tweet in which she slammed Muslim Rep. Ilhan Omar’s support of Sharia law and female genital mutilation.

“Isn’t it ironic how the twitter moment used to celebrate ‘women, LGBTQ, and minorities’ is a picture of Ilhan Omar?” began Loomer in her tweet, “Ilhan is pro-Sharia Ilhan is pro- FGM Under Sharia, homosexuals are oppressed & killed. Women are abused & forced to wear the hijab. Ilhan is anti-Jewish.”

Loomer, who had amassed more than 260,000 followers on the platform, was permanently suspended from her account for purportedly violating Twitter’s rules against “hateful conduct”.

Omar and Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) are planning a trip to Israel and Palestinian-controlled territories. But amid controversies surrounding their support for the anti-Israel BDS movement and charges that the U.S. congresswomen hold anti-Semitic views, it will come down to Prime Minister Netanyahu, who enjoys a stellar relationship with President Trump, to decide whether to allow the pro-HAMAS anti-Jewish congresswomen into the country.

Loomer, who handcuffed herself to the door of Twitter’s New York offices in protest of her banning last November.

She then filed a lawsuit against Twitter and CAIR over her 2018 blacklisting from the social network in April.

The social networking site is vigorously cracking down on speech it considers “hateful” and “dangerous,” banning influential conservative political figures, while it apathetically allows Islamic radicals to use the service to promote terrorism.

Loomer has been warning that Twitter is providing material support to these terror groups, particularly Hamas, Hezbollah and ISIS, by allowing them a platform, which is prohibited under federal law.

Last month, 16 GOP lawmakers urged Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey to remove “all content promoting terrorist activity,” including banning “senior Hamas officials and associates from Twitter who radicalize individuals to incite violence against Israelis,” according to a statement issued by the members.

“Congress has already determined that providing material support, resources, and intangible assistance to a [Foreign Terrorist Organization] is a federal crime,” wrote the lawmakers, led by Republican Reps. Lee Zeldin (R., N.Y.), Doug Lamborn (R., Colo.), and Joe Wilson (R., S.C), co-chairs of the House Republican Israel Caucus.

“Furthermore, the Supreme Court has upheld that federal law prohibiting individuals and groups from providing material support to FTOs does not violate the First Amendment,” the lawmakers wrote. “It is imperative that Twitter, a United States Company, bans designated FTOs, removing all content promoting terrorist activity.”

If Twitter fails to remove these accounts on its own volition, Congress will draft legislation to ban these accounts, the lawmakers asserted.

“Hamas follows a comprehensive charter that calls for the murder of every Jew and the destruction of the State of Israel through the covenant of Jihad. Hamas is well known for firing rockets and digging terror tunnels into Israel, murdering and kidnapping Israelis, and using women and children as human shields. Every year, Hamas uses Twitter to gather mass participation for its ‘Days of Rage’ against Israel,” they wrote. “Twitter has a responsibility to stop the spread of terrorism on its site. We hope Twitter will take action without the need for additional Congressional oversight and legislative action.”

While Twitter allows Islamic jihadists to coordinate and sound off on its platform and bans conservative activists and pundits, Saudi Prince Alwaleed bin Talal has increased his holdings in the social media giant and has become one of the largest shareholders in the company.

According to a recent regulatory filing, Saudi Prince Alwaleed bin Talal now owns 34.9 million shares of Twitter’s common stock, which is more than its CEO and co-founder Jack Dorsey who holds 3.2% of the company. Kingdom Holding Company, his investment company of which he’s the chairman, holds approximately 4,850,000 shares. He and his company originally invested $300 million in Twitter back in 2011 before it went public in 2013.
