Scandal-plagued freshman Rep. Ilhan Omar proposed a resolution this week supporting the right to boycott Israel.

Comparing the boycott of the Jewish state to boycotts of Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union, the Democrat lawmaker’s resolution seeks to nullify U.S. laws banning the boycott of Israel and “affirm[s] that all Americans have the right to participate in boycotts in pursuit of civil and human rights at home and abroad, as protected by the First Amendment to the Constitution.”

“Americans of conscience have a proud history of participating in boycotts to advocate for human rights abroad, including … boycotting Nazi Germany from March 1933 to October 1941 in response to the dehumanization of the Jewish people in the lead-up to the Holocaust,” the Minnesota Democrat’s resolution states.

Omar told reporters the resolution pertains to the Jewish state, but the Muslim congresswoman did not explicitly reference Israel or the pro-Palestinian Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions movement.

“We are introducing a resolution – to speak about the American values that support and believe in our ability to exercise our First Amendment rights in regard to boycotting,” Omar told Al-Monitor. “It is an opportunity for us to explain why it is we support a nonviolent movement, which is the BDS movement.”

Omar also compared the boycotts of Israel to the Boston Tea Party

The resolution, co-sponsored by Reps. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) and John Lewis (D-GA), seeks to oppose “unconstitutional legislative efforts to limit the use of boycotts to further civil rights at home and abroad,” and “urges Congress, States, and civil rights leaders from all communities to endeavor to preserve the freedom of advocacy for all by opposing anti-boycott resolutions and legislation.”

Leaders in the BDS movement are praising the resolution.

“It reassures us that progressives, including in Congress, are defending freedom of expression and the right of oppressed communities, including Palestinians, to peacefully fight for their rights,” Hind Awwad, a spokesperson for the Palestinian-led BDS Movement, said in a statement.

Omar proposed the resolution in response to five bills pro-Israel bills advanced by Republicans on the House Foreign Affairs Committee, two of which seek to sanction supporters of Hamas and improve the defense and security assistance to Israel.

House Resolution 1850, the Palestinian International Terrorism Support Prevention Act sponsored by Rep. Brian Mast (R-FLA) seeks “to impose sanctions with respect to foreign support for Palestinian terrorism, and for other purposes.”

House Resolution 1837, United States-Israel Cooperation Enhancement and Regional Security Act sponsored by Rep. Ted Deutch (D-FLA) seeks “to make improvements to certain defense and security assistance provisions and to authorize assistance for Israel, and for other purposes.”

Rep. Lee Zeldin (R-NY) warns Omar is supporting a movement linked to Hamas.

“My colleague who just spoke used the frequent use of the words ‘honestly’ and ‘honest.’ Let’s just get to a lot of what is left out,” the Jewish representative said Wednesday, referring to Omar after she gave a speech during a House Foreign Affairs Committee hearing supporting the BDS movement. “The BDS movement has not distanced itself from Hamas, a designated foreign terrorist organization. BDS supporters individually are not distancing themselves from Hamas either.”

A senior Hamas official has called for the death of all Jews last week, Zeldin noted.

“[T]here are Members of this House who continue to prop up the BDS movement and blame Israel for all of its challenges. Israel is our best ally in the Middle East; a beacon of hope, freedom and liberty surrounded by existential threats,” he said. “Shame on Rep. Omar for bringing her hateful twist of this reality today to the committee and this chamber.”

The Somali-born lawmaker’s actions against Israel comes after President Trump blasted the congresswoman for notorious professing anti-Israel, anti-Semitic and anti-American sentiment, recommending she and other progressive freshman Democrats to ‘go back and help fix the totally broken and crime-infested places from which they came.”

Illoominate Media’s founder, investigative journalist Laura Loomer, is calling on the public to report Omar U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services for immigration fraud.

“Omar is an immigrant from Somalia that came to America legally during the Somali Civil War. Her brother didn’t make the cut so Omar legally married him to give him a shortcut to citizenship and get him into an American university,” Loomer warned in an email demanding the pubic sign a petition to investigate Omar.

SIGN THE PETITION: DEMAND U.S. CITIZENSHIP AND IMMIGRATION SERVICES INVESTIGATE REP. OMAR’S IMMIGRATION FRAUD

“U.S. law forbids people to “enter into a marriage for the purpose of evading immigration laws. The penalty for violating this is imprisonment for up to five years or a fine of more than $250,000 or both,” the email states. “The liberal media and powerful Muslim lobbying groups have created a ring of protection around Omar and her Klan. But she IS NOT above the law.”

The president on Wednesday agreed allegations of Omar marrying her brother should be investigated.
