Chaos erupted in the streets of London after British free speech activist Tommy Robinson was sentenced to nine more months in jail after being re-convicted on “contempt” charges.

“Tommy Robinson supporters rioted on the streets of London, set fire to European Union flags and threw bottles at police officers today as he was jailed for a second time for contempt of court for nine months – but will only be behind bars for less than ten weeks,” according to Daily Mail.

Robinson was convicted on the same charge and sentenced to jail in May of 2018. He served five months – where he lodged an official compliant for being “mentally tortured” after he was held in solitary confinement – until his lawyers won an appeal and he was released in August. He lost the appeal, and is now headed back to jail.

Robinson’s “crime” was essentially filming outside a courthouse. He has long worked to expose the rise of radical Islamism in Britain as the country takes in mass numbers of Muslim “refugees” from some of the most dangerous places on earth. For this, he has become an enemy of the state, labeled an “Islamophobe” and a “xenophobe.”

In May of 2018, he was arrested after he filmed an alleged Muslim grooming gang heading into court for a trial. “Grooming” is the practice of preparing and using children as sex slaves.

“Outside court, Robinson’s supporters booed as news of his sentence filtered through and officers donned their helmets as violent clashes erupted,” the Daily Mail report said. “The crowd marched towards the court chanting ‘we want Tommy out’ before some began pelting police with drinks bottles and cans. Some protesters chanted ‘paedo protectors’ at officers.”

Robinson’s Telegram account, which has more than 50,000 subscribers, called on his supporters to protest Saturday outside whichever prison where he is locked up.

“Hopefully by this Saturday, I’m laying there in my cell and I can just hear all your voices outside whichever s***hole HMP I’m in,” he said. “Just want to say to everyone I appreciate whilst I’m in there I know people will be fighting for me. But I’ll be fine in there.”

Criticism of radical Islam is the impetus for scorn in Western society. In the United States, the First Amendment allows us to do what Robinson did. But still, criticizing Islam can cost one his or her livelihood.

Laura Loomer was banned from Twitter after she called Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) “anti-Jewish.” Loomer was smeared as an “Islamophobe” simply for reporting on Omar’s past misdeeds – including the alleged fraudulent marriage to her brother – which at the time was called a “conspiracy theory.” Nearly a year later, that reporting has gone mainstream, and Loomer was vindicated.

Loomer is also suing Twitter and the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) over her ban.
